Transgression is a crime or any act that violates a law, command or moral code, an act of overstepping a limit of decree. Every transgression of the almighty’s law, consequently we have sinned, referring the scripture verse in 1 John 3:4 “ Whoever committed sin transgressed also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law.
Going back into the book of Bereshith which means “In the beginning” or known as Genesis. The story of creation, humankind and man’s disobedience to Almighty’s commandment. The first commandment of Almighty to Man was to eat every fruit of the garden except for the tree of knowledge for good and evil where it can be read in Genesis 2:16-17. Man’s violation of Almighty’s law began in the Story of Adam and with his wife, Eve that made the first sin or simply known as the original sin. Adam had trusted Eve of eating that fruit she gave to him without asking or knowing the kind of that fruit, where it brought him to disobey the Almighty Father. Thus, the first transgression of the law occurred in commenting the scripture verse from the book of Genesis in Chapter three.
The 613 commandments, summarizing the Ten Commandments which were inscribed on two stone tablets by Almighty himself given to Moses and the children of Israel in the wilderness of Mount Sinai and upon their journey to the promise land, where it can be found in the Torah or the “five books of Moses namely as Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The 613 laws is all about the reverence and love for one Almighty, the significance of law, signs of symbols, customs of prayers and blessings, love and brotherhood, in taking care of the poor and unfortunate people, in dealing the stranger, concerning marriage, divorce and family, forbidden sexual relations, the commemoration of holy festivals referring the book of Leviticus on chapter twenty three, dietary laws in Leviticus of chapter eleven, business practices, treating the servants and slaves, in relation to vows, oaths and swearing, the sabbatical and Jubillee years, the court and judicial procedure, method of injuries and damages, property, property rights, criminal laws, punishment and restitution, prophecy, idolatry, idolatrous practices, agriculture, animal husbandry, clothing, the responsibility of the first born, the Kohanim/Priest and Levites, the offerings, tithes and taxes, the temple, the sanctuary and sacred objects, ritual purity and impurity, provision to lepers, the rights of Kings, Israelites, and lastly but not the least those engage in war movement. The law specifically denotes directly your relationship with Almighty and your fellowmen. Every violation of these given laws is guilty of committing sin.
According to Jewish concept or by their shared commentaries, an act being made by people which is not on the Almighty’s law given to Moses has not carried out sin.
